EAST COAST INVITATIONAL MEET

     19 Jan. - - Classical’s Alva Hicks won double gold on Saturday at the annual East Coast Championship at the PCTA track. Hicks threw the 20-pound weight 49-5 (15.06), and put the shot at 38-7 (11.76).  Teammate Bianca Donadio vaulted 11 feet (3.35) to win the event and notch a new school record. The Purple’s Alicia Holloway took the 400 (1:00.77).
     In the boys’ portion of the meet, Barrington’s Adam Kelly improved by nearly a meter his winning performance at Yale in the boys’ weight throw. Kelly’s East Coast mark was 77-0.50 (23.48) over his Yale toss of 74-9 (22.78). La  Salle’s Sean Greene won the high jump, while North Kingstown’s Joe Craven and Zach Emrich were victorious in the 800 and 400 meters, respectively.
     Mount Pleasant’s Randolph Zleh clocked 6.62 to win the dash, Hope’s Akiel Legall leapt 21-1 (6.42) in the long jump, and the Eagles’ Jon Cavanagh cleared the pole vault bar at 12-6 (3.81).
