Alan Fortes was a member of the 1983-84 State Champion Basketball Team,he was also the co-captain of the 1984-85 two time state Champions.In 1985 he was the MVP on the State Championship Team and also was named to the ALL Tournament Team that year. He Scored a amazing 24 points and led the the purple from a 19 point deficit with only 5 minutes remaining to a win ,please note there was no three point line at that time. This was no doubt one of the greatest games ever played in Interscholastic League History.

Alan Cherished his PURPLE MEMORIES until the end spending time with some of team mates and coaches. The Purple was and always will be a special part of his life.

Alan passed away short time ago after a courageous battle with illness. Alan fought his illness , using the qualities he learned while playing for the Purple, Perseverance,Drive Desire and Determination under any and all circumstances until the day he passed.

Alan is a member of the Classical High School Athletic Hall Of Fame and will always be remembered  as one of the greatest Athletes in Classical High School History. More importantly he will always be a member of the Classical Family and will always be PURPLE!
