Boys Cross country on a path to qualify for state Meet

The boys 1st meet of the season on 10/3 was against a tough Bishop Hendricken team. Jr. Cooper Michaud was Classicals top runner finishing 3rd overall and Jr. Nick Mott finished 8th. Cooper and Nick are looking to build on a successful sophomore season that was cut short due to the pandemic. Rounding out Classicals top 7 were, freshman Lucas Hurtado, sophomore Kay Thay, freshman Ezra Kislak-Brown, Jacob Almo & Micha Santow, and Jr. Henry Tremblay. The Purple boys XC team is looking forward to a competitive season ahead.

 

In the 2nd meet of the season on 10/10, Classical faced off against the other Providence public schools in the City Championship meet facing Hope, Mt. Pleasant, Juanita Sanchez and Central, winning the City crown for the 7th straight year. Classical finished with 4 of the top 10 runners, led by a 1-2 finish Jr's from Cooper Michaud and Nick Mott. Jr. Wade Deshaw and freshman Lucas Hurtado were the Purples 3rd and 4th runners both finishing in the top 10 for the race. Sophomore Kay Thay and freshman Ezra Kislak-Brown & Michah Santow rounded out the 1st 7 finishers for Classical. The boys and girls XC teams will face East Greenwich and Pilgrim on 10/17.
