Winthrop's Marthaline Cooper Named Big South Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Eagle Freshman Honored After Shattering Her Own Hammer Throw Record At Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC – Freshman thrower Marthaline Cooper has been recognized as the Big South Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week after her record breaking performance in the hammer throw at the 49'ers Classic last weekend.
Cooper (Providence, RI.) posted a throw of 186-feet, 5-inches to take home first place at the Charlotte meet. Her performance shattered her previous mark that she set at Mt. Pleasant two weeks ago. Cooper is currently ranked No. 10 in the East Region and No. 12 in the nation in the hammer throw. She will be performing this weekend when the Eagles host its annual Winthrop Invitationa |
