Freshman Tim Shea booted a 30yard last second field goal giving Classical 16-13 victory over Mt.Pleasant in their non league holiday Mayors cup championship turkey bowl game for the annual Irv Nelson and Al Morro trophy. The trophy is named after two legendary coaches that helped develope football in the city of Providence. Classical and Mt Pleasant played to a tie in the first half 7-7. The purple came out in the second half and turned the ball over twice and led to a Mt. Pleasant score in the 3rd quarter that put them up 13-7 after a missed extra point. Classicals defense played strong all day got the ball back for the purple late in the 4th quarter on our own 40 yard line with 4 minutes to go in the game. The purple connected with a reverse pass from John Fluery to dominic Gomes that led to game 13-13 after Tim Shea missed the extra point. The Purple Kicked off to the Kilities with under 2 minutes to go and Mt. Pleasant started to drive the ball when Rassmeay Morm picked off a Mt. Pleasasnt pass and ran it back for the purple down to the Kilities 20 yard line. With seconds to go Tim Shea connected from 30 yards out to win the game for the Purple 16-13 and increase there lead in the series 13-9.
